Rescues save mother duck and babies stranded on busy dual carriageway

This is the heartwarming moment a family of ducks that were stuck on a busy dual carriageway were rescued.

The mother duck and her eight ducklings were struggling to reach safety on the other side of the road while cars sped past in Chasoengsao, central Thailand on September 14.

A concerned driver saw the wild birds in distress and immediately called the animal rescue team.

Officials arrived and rushed to close the lanes of traffic to block oncoming cars and allow the ducks to pass safely.

One of the rescuers, Tawan Singsingsing, said he was glad that the birds were not harmed before they arrived.

He said: "No matter how big or small a creature is, we are always glad to rescue them.

They are safe now." The mother duck flew into the pond upon reaching the other side of the road, so the rescuers carried the small babies in their palms and let them across the barrier.

Tawan thanked all his rescue colleagues after they had let the ducks into the pond nearby.
