Devotees flocked to ghats in Patna to offer 'argha' to Sun God on the last day of Chhath puja. It is the four-day long Hindu festival which is mainly observed by the people of Bihar, Jharkhand and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Today is the final day of the festival, and on the fourth and the final day, devotees pray before sunrise and end their fast by eating special prasad and delicacies.
The four-day Chhath Puja celebrations commenced on Wednesday, November 18 amid Covid-19 pandemic. Authorities have prepared ghats for devotees to pay obeisance to Lord Sun. Around a million devotees throng ghats for celebrating Bihar's biggest festival. On the first day of the festival, devotees observe 'nahai-khai'. They cook 'satvik' food on this day and serve it to deity as 'bhog'. The festival is also observed by people of Jharkhand and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Celebrations conclude with married women offering 'arghya' to Sun God in the morning. Patna administration has taken several steps to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Authorities have urged devotees to perform puja at home to avoid gathering at ghats. The administration is also distributing Ganga water among devotees for performing rituals at home. Several water tanks have been stationed at different locations for the devotees.

A day after Jharkhand government issued an order to not permit Chhath Puja in water bodies amid COVID-19, on November 17 issued new guidelines. As per new guidelines, people now can celebrate Chhath Puja at river banks and ponds while following all COVID19 protocols, informed state Chief Minister Hemant Soren while speaking to media persons. He said, "It has been decided that Chhath Puja can be celebrated at river banks and ponds while following all COVID-19 protocols like wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on October 08 handed over appointment letters to 24 newly recruited District Sports Officers (DSOs). The posting of district sports officers was done through lottery by the Chief Minister. A man called, Wilson Makdi has been rescued after Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren appealed to District Administration of Simdega, to rescue him. Wilson was trapped at the Koel River and battling for life and death for last 15 hours. After CM's intervention in the matter on Twitter, the man was rescued safely.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed grief on the demise of state's Minority Welfare Minister Haji Hussain Ansari. He died on evening of October 03 due to cardiac arrest at a hospital in Ranchi. CM Soren said that he stayed in JMM like a family. Ansari had also tested positive for COVID-19 but was recovered from the deadly virus.
A court in Tumakuru district of Karnataka on Friday directed the police to register an FIR against actress Kangana Ranaut on her recent tweet allegedly targeting farmers protesting the farm laws. Based on a complaint by a lawyer L Ramesh Naik, the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court directed the inspector of Kyathasandra police station to register an FIR against the actress. The court said the complainant had filed an application under section 156(3) of the CrPC for investigation.
