North Mississippi Medical Sports Program hosts a clinic for student athletes who leave with injuries after games on Fridays.

Friday night game, some student athletes leave with an injury.

Wtva's alexis jones was in tupelo with how north mississippi medical sports program helps heal them.

Student athletes from around the state came to north mississippi medical center today to get their injuries checked out for free.

Pkg: sot: "they know what to do whenever you have a certain injury they know how to prep and get back on the field as soon as possible."

Mason winders plays tight end for tupelo high school's football team.

Mason said another player ran into his shoulder during friday's game.

He said he's happy he can go to the center when he has an injury.

Sot: "it means a lot.

Their super friendly, and they always do the job good, and always have good advice on what to do."

Then, an orthopedic doctor evaluates it.

After, an athletic trainer comes up with a return to play plan.

Sot: "they can come in and get some answers the next day instead of worrying if it's a knee injury or a fracture."

An athletic trainer is working on a plan to get him safely back on the field.
