Herkimer police have issued a press release providing additional details on an incident at the herkimer walmart yesterday evening.
Police say they were called to the walmart just before 6:30 for a report of a quote "possible attempted abduction."
They say a twelve-yr reported a man approached them and offered to buy the child a toy.
When officers arrived they located the man, who they say was visibly drunk, and tried to get him to leave the property.
When he refused he was arrested and ticketed for trespassing.
Police did not release the name of the suspect, pending possible additional charges.
However, they say no attempt at an abduction or physical contact between the man and boy took place.
