Slippers were hurled at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav during a poll rally in Bihar’s Aurangabad. The leader was sitting with party workers when the incident happened. Two slippers were hurled at the leader. One of the slipper missed Yadav while the second one landed in his lap. Yadav has been campaigning in Bihar ahead of the assembly polls in the state. Facing flak for his "item" jibe about Madhya Pradesh minister Imarti Devi, state Congress chief Kamal Nath has expressed regret and claimed that he did not say anything disrespectful. While Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said earlier in the day that he did not appreciate the kind of language Nath used, Nath maintained that he would not apologise. While the upcoming Bihar election is being seen as a battle between Nitish Kumar led NDA and the Mahagathbandhan led by Tejashwi Yadav, there are several other claimants for the coveted post of Chief Minister. BJP workers beat up workers of Pappu Yadav's Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) on September 25. The two groups clashed outside BJP headquarters in Patna. The brawl took place after JAP workers tried to enter BJP office in protest against recent farm bills.
Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad's helicopter was damaged after its blades broke at the Patna airport on October 17. The accident occurred after the minister got off the helicopter. The blades had hit an overhead wiring at a construction site. Ravi Shankar Prasad while speaking to ANI confirmed that he was fine. Prasad said, "I went to Jhanjharpur for an election campaign. Rotor blade of the helicopter that was used during travel was damaged a little after I deboarded it. I am absolutely fine. We are safe, satisfied and have taken an oath to take Bihar even more forward."
The Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Sushil Modi took a jibe at opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) -led Grand Alliance over their manifesto. "People who have encroached farmers land are now talking about welfare of farmers. They are from the ones who say a lot but do nothing," said Sushil Modi. They also released election song 'Modi ji ki leher' featuring party leader and actor Dinesh Lal Yadav 'Nirahua'. Bihar will go for three-phased elections starting from October 28 and results will be declared on November 10.
Sanjay Raut said that Shiv Sena will contest on 40-50 seats in Bihar Assembly polls. He added that no final decision has, however, been taken on pre-poll alliance yet. Raut said that local parties, including that of Pappu Yadav, want to talk to Shiv Sena. The Shiv Sena MP added that he will visit Patna next week to meet local parties. RJD-led Mahagathbandhan in Bihar comprises Congress and Left parties. While BJP-JDU alliance has agreed upon sharing 121-122 seats in the polls, Lok Janshakti Party led by Chirag Paswan has decided to go solo. Elections to the 243-seat Bihar assembly will be held in three phases. Bihar will vote on October 28, November 3, November 7 and the counting will take place on November 10.

While speaking to media in Mumbai on October 13, Shiv Sena's veteran leader Sanjay Raut spoke on matter if his party will fight Bihar elections in alliance with Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Raut said, "Shiv Sena will contest 40-50 seats, there is no talk about alliance with anyone till now. I will go to Patna next week." "Local parties including that of Pappu Yadav want to talk to us," Shiv Sena leader added.
Congress, JD(S) and SDPI workers joined farm groups to protest against the farm bills, the land reforms, amendments to APMCs & labour laws. Farmer groups had given a statewide shutdown call over the issues. Protesters in Hubli were seen stopping buses as part of their protest. SDPI, Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, JD(S), Karnataka Rakshana Vedike joined the stir by forming a human chain at the Ashoka Circle in Shivamogga. Some protesters were also detained by the police in Madikeri during their demonstration against the state & the central government. Apart from the centre’s farm bills, the demonstrations were against two important amendments to the Karnataka Land Reforms Act and the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee Act passed by the Karnataka Assembly. The protesters alleged that these laws will ruin the agriculture sector as people with moneybags will purchase agricultural land to convert their black money into white and turn agriculture land into real estate business.
