Music concert at the bend.

>> who can have the chance to see grammy award winners among the other fantastic performers in the open air with friends, food, wine and opening charleston music hall's outdoor music series, charleston singer of ranky tanky and we have them putting it all together.

Thank you so much for being with us.

>> thank you for having me.

>> so on the spotlight music series, we're talking about bringing people back and seeing concerts again, but in a much safer way, and charles, you come up with a great plan and tell us about this.

>> absolutely, we're heading around the bend for the around the bend concert series.

Social distanced concert series, so we have eight shows for you to the 14th, and it will be 25010 by 10-foot squares, so you can bring a party of up to 4 max each sc square and all of the squares will be in the 20 be acres of beautiful land on the river.

>> and charles, you have things with ranky tanky in november, and television what it's like getting back out there in front of audiences after being cloistered for so many weeks and months.

>> when you hear it, it's going to be out in front of the live audience as artists, and i'm sure you know that there's nothing like being in that moment live and having the energy of the crowd and just being the performers that we are, and the performer that i am.

When charles approached all of us about this, it was like sign me up, let's go.

>> absolutely, you go from the excitement of being and winning a grammy award, being at the grammy awards, and winning one, to then having to quarantine for so long.

You've been shut down.

>> we literally had about five performances.

Ironically, the grammys are out in california, and right after we won, we had a couple of shows still in california like two or three days after, and we did those, and i think we did like one or two in february, and another one with the charleston symphony in march, and that was literally the night that everything was like that's it.

And since then it has been scattered or rescheduled.

So when charles came through, man, it was like yes!

Performing in our own backyard with the homies, absolutely.

>> absolutely, absolutely.

And charles, maybe you can tell us who some of the other performers are going to be.

>> absolutely.

October 9th khusto.

And then we have the aretha franklin tribute.

And then ranky it tanky on the 14th.

>> you have a lineup, man.

>> i know, right?

>> like these serious festival.

That's a lineup, man.

>> it absolutely s.

>> that's good.

>> finally, finally, charles, a lot of people are thanking you for this, both the performers and the audience members.

Tickets won't sale a couple of weeks ago and people need to get out there and get their tickets, because the seats are hot and they're going to go fast.

And what i love, you with byo, wine, food, you can bring your blanket with friends, and everyone has to wear a mask and like i mentioned earlier, only four people per square.

>> as long as you're in a square, you can take your mask off as long as you're walking around.

>> it's a perfect solution to what's going on now, but eventually, you're going to be back in the theater and can you tell us approximately when?

>> yes, the theater is looking at opening at a 250 capacity in mid november.

>> okay, perfect.

All right, and then you're git take a couple of months off in the new year and hopefully we'll be back to normal by then?

Fingers crossed?

Yeah.

Charles, and you've been up to a lot.

And we're friends on facebook which is a badge of honor for myself and i love the posts that you put out there every day, and it looks like you're keeping busy at home and what are you and ranky tanky up to these days.

>> w.

We have been just sort of preparing ourselves for -- there have been a lot of inquiries for 2021.

We're very fortunate enough to get picked up recently by another proud homey, steven cobair, he featured a video of ours on youtube recently.

And we've got a few other irons in the fire that are surprises that are in the works right now, so stay tuned with us on social media and we have some good stuff that's coming in everybody's way.

>> that sounds so exciting.

I can't tell you enough how proud you made everybody here when you took home that award.

The excitement that you and your other band members experienced, we were experiencing for you as well.

>> well, i mean it was a village win.

Everybody is a part of our village.

The whole low country has supported us individually and as this group for many years, so when we walked there, or ran up there or hollered and screamed up there, it was definitely represent the whole low country and all of the love and support and encouragement that people have given us over the years so.

When i hear people talking about it and they say we won, i'm like yeah, we did.

And charles and the music hall have been very supportive of us over the years, and like i said, as individual artists, we have done some things recently that i'm not going to give too much away, but have come to light.

And thank you, charles.

And we're very fortunate with this village and this community with ranky tanky.

>> we love a good cliff hanger and we can't wait to check in and see what all of those things are b gentlemen, i want to thank you so much for joining us and people buy your tickets.

This is the charleston music hall outdoor concert series, the bend, beautiful spot on the ashley river, and we have squares left for some of the concerts starting on october 23rd all the way to the 14th of november, and up next, >> and now, charles singleton is friends performing all night long on this week's spotlight series.
