Police pioneer surf therapy to help emergency staff combat mental health issues

Police have developed the first scheme of its kind that uses surf therapy as atreatment method for post-traumatic stress disorder, stress and mental healthissues.

Devon and Cornwall Police and Dorset Police, which have developed theproject, say it is the first in the world that is specifically tailored to theneeds of the emergency services.Surfwell, which was founded by serving policeofficers, has been used by around 70 emergency service workers since June lastyear.
