Mahagathbandhan's CM candidate Tejashwi Yadav lashed out at BJP and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. Tejashwi mocked BJP saying that the world's largest party does not have a CM face. The RJD leader said if he's inexperienced then why are they using full force against him. "BJP is the largest party in the world but they don't have a CM candidate," he said. Tejashwi added, "I have been an MLA, Leader of Opposition and also held deputy CM's post. My five years of experience is equivalent to 50 years of experience." Earlier, Tejashwi challenged Bihar CM to debate on any of his achievements in last five years. The RJD-led Mahagathbandhan in Bihar comprises Congress and Left parties. BJP-JDU alliance has agreed upon sharing 121-122 seats in the assembly polls. Bihar elections will be conducted in three phases starting October 28. Results of the state assembly polls will be declared on November 10.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched a fresh attack on Congress leader Kamal Nath. This comes after Kamal Nath issued a clarification over his 'item' remark. The Madhya Pradesh CM was addressing an election rally ahead of by-polls. "What has happened to you Kamal Nath? You are 74-year-old. I can't repeat what you said about BJP's Imarti Devi. When we objected, he shamelessly called everyone an 'item," he said. Kamal Nath has been under fire over his 'item' jibe at Imarti Devi. The former CM stated that he had not said anything disrespectful against Devi. Kamal Nath claimed that the 'item' word could be used in different contexts. ECI has also sought a report from MP Chief Electoral Officer over the matter. In run-up to MP legislative assembly by-polls, Kamal Nath referred to Devi as 'item'. Kamal Nath was addressing a campaign rally in Dabra for Congress candidate Suresh Raje. Imarti Devi is also contesting the by-polls on a BJP ticket from Dabra.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that the Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar should meet with Chief Minister of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana every month to find a solution to the menace of pollution. ‘This issue is important and cannot be handled at that level. I appealed to the centre to have monthly meetings with the Chief Ministers of UP, Delhi, Punjab Haryana regarding this issue, and work in a systematic and dedicated manner with fixed deadlines,’ Kejriwal added. Kejriwal also said that he does not agree with Javadekar’s claim that it would take at least 4 years to tackle pollution. He said that India’s engineers and scientists have found ways to curb stubble burning but there is a lack of political will to implement those steps. ‘Stubble is a huge liability right now. We can convert it into an opportunity. There is only one condition: Do we have the political will? Or will we politicise this as well?’ he asked. AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar slammed BJP after Hathras police registered a case against him. This comes after the Delhi AAP MLA had gone to meet Hathras victim's family on October 4. Balwinder Singh had fought terrorism and his family remained on target of the terrorists for years. SDM Patti Rajesh Sharma said that security has been provided to deceased's family members. He said three gunmen will be deployed to provide security to Singh's family. "Security (of Balwinder Singh) was withdrawn during COVID-19. When the situation arose suddenly, gunmen provided to everyone were called back by the Police Dept. Unfortunately, such an incident took place. Now three gunmen have been provided to the family," he said. Punjab government has formed a Special Investigation Team to look into the murder. In CCTV footage, two unidentified men can be seen, one of whom went up to his house and shot him at point blank range.
