Purdue Fort Wayne political science professor Michael Wolf, Ph.D., hopes that even if students may not have seen exactly what they wanted, he hopes watching the debate among their peers was a good start for them.

Reaction from the first presidential debate continues to be a topic of discussion.

But how did the debate sit with young voters?

Fox 55 caleb saylor spoke with a group of college students who watched the debate and has more on their thoughts.

Lot of these guys are first time voters.

This is the first time theyl be voting in the presidential election.

At purdue fort wayne, students gathered to watch the presidential debate.

Political science professor michael wolf says the e young people don tend to follow the older crowds in their party.

E really concerned about this division we see in the country.

They are very unse a ed with that and it younger have they don the kind of beefs between parties that some of the older generation do.

However, many of the students like kyle gibson and xeryus john exactly that what they saw in the debate as candidates interrupted one another t was kind of a mess, not going to lie.

The interrupting and everybody jumping over each other.

0:35-0:40 f we continue like this there will be no debates at that point.

The american people wont get to fully see what each candidate has to offer.

Group of students had a common belief in what would solve that problem ne, we can get a strong moderator that can really handle very strong personalities on the debate stage.

I think we need to have a better structure to the event and make sure that everyone who agrees to the debate rules actually continues to follow them throughout the debate rather than going against them.

0:53-0:58 t definitely needs more moderated.

I like to see more topics such as foreign affairs.

Believe that chris wallace is a good moderator, but tonight e just couldn handle the egos of donald trump and joe biden.

Opefully in the future we can be a little bit more controlling of the candidates to where just over each other so much.

Says while students may not have seen exactly what they wanted, he hopes it was a good start for them opefully they were able to project their own issues and see where they came out from the two candidates caleb saylor, fox 55 news.

Doctor wolf says he hopes purdue fort wayne will be able to offer a similar watch party for a least one more of the upcoming
