Record Rainfall

TVA reports that we have set a rainfall record in our region over the last year.

Chattanooga area has broken a rainfall record.

If you think there's been a lot more rainy days, you're right.

From october 20-19 to september of this year, the tennessee river basin received 75.74 inches of rainfall.

That's 150 percent above normal.

Acording to the t-v-a, that's the wettest 12 month period ever.

"it has certainly been a wet year so far.

Just in this past february, we got almost triple the amount of normal rainfall at over 11 inches of rain.

Most recently with tropical storm beta that brought four to five inches of rain here in the tennessee valley.

October is typically one of our drier months.

We have lots of sunshine here in our forecast.

But, it's something that we are going to be monitoring."
