First Friday Butte county is in the Red Tier of reopening

It's the first Friday since Butte County moved to the Red Tier of the reopening plan.

Action News Now spoke to the Chico Mall General Manager and restaurants about how it has looked for them.

Are lifting for various places in butte county..

Action news now reporter amy lanski is at the chico market place..

And has the latest on how the mall is looking.

I'm here inside the mall and the first rule if you plan to come here..

Make sure you have on a mask if you're inside at all you need it on.

You can also see each store is responsible for making sure restrictions are being met.

If you look behind me this is just one store and you can see there are markers for how far people should be standing apart and there are signs for the entrance and exit.

The rules in butte county for the malls is they can be open indoors but at 50% capacity..

So each store is responsible for counting the amount of customers that come in.

The common areas also have to be closed.

I spoke to the mall's senior general manager who says they are taking this very seriously.

Natasha shelton -- chico mall senior general manager 00-23 laura williams- from chico - 23-34 seconds "we are getting a lot of positive feedback, all of our stores are abiding by the orders.

Most f them are requiring hand sanitizer when you walk in as well.

Ieveryone has on a mask as well.

It is very rare you see anyone without a mask in the mall common areas or in the stores.

They are definitely abiding by the occupancy, so far we are definitely getting a lot of support."

"seeing everyone with a mask, one person just went by without it.

I like that everyone is trying to stay away from eachother and have the mask on."

Shelton added santa claus will be at the mall this year... it'll look a little different... he will be in an endline space... and kids won't be able to sit on his lap..

But can still visit with him... there's also the option for a virtual santa visit... he gets there on black friday, there won't be any trick or treating this year because of restrictions..

But there will be a pumpkin decorating event and costume contest on the 24th..

You can register for that online.

Reporting from chico..

Amy lanski.

Action news now..

Coverage you can count on..

The second week of october the hours of the mall will change from 11am to seven..

To 10 am to 8pm to prepare for the holidays.

Coming up at five... amy will go to some restaurants downtown to see how they are looking in this new phase of reopening.
