Liza Mickens is the direct descendent of Maggie L.
Walker, a prominent suffragette who fought for the 19th Amendment and went on to be a leading face of voter registration, fighting tirelessly to help African Americans achieve economic and social independence.
Today, Liza carries on the legacy of her ancestor.
