Farmers in Jharkhand's Ranchi are praising the new agriculture laws. According to them, the new reforms will be highly beneficial for farmers. "The bills are good. Farmers praised Central government's new farm bills. Through the bills government are protecting farmers from middlemen," a farmer said to ANI. "We are hopeful that new bills will benefit us. Through the bills middlemen will not be able to steal our profits," another farmer said.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on October 08 handed over appointment letters to 24 newly recruited District Sports Officers (DSOs). The posting of district sports officers was done through lottery by the Chief Minister. The mortal remains of senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel were brought to Sardar Patel Hospital in his hometown of Bharuch in Gujarat on November 25. His last rites will likely be performed on November 26 in his native place. The veteran Congress leader, a confidante of party's interim president Sonia Gandhi, passed away in the wee hours of November 25, his son Faisal Patel confirmed on Twitter. Ahmed Patel had tested positive for coronavirus around a month back, and was undergoing treatment at a Gurugram hospital. The seasoned leader died due to multi-organ failure. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Sonia Gandhi, almost every political leader condoled Ahmed Patel's death. PM Modi called him a person with "sharp mind" and someone who "strengthened" the Congress party. Whereas Sonia Gandhi said she has lost an "irreplaceable comrade" in Ahmed Patel.

Six people were rescued and two others went missing after a vessel carrying eight trucks capsized in Ganga river in Malda district of West Bengal on night of November 23. According to Malda's Zilla Parishad, Sabhadhipati Gaur Chandra Mondal, the launch boat was coming from Rajmahal ghat of Jharkhand, but got drowned during unloading of trucks at Manikchak ghat in Malda. Search and rescue operation is underway to trace the two missing individuals. Meanwhile, the Malda administration has initiated an enquiry to find the cause of the incident.
Devotees flocked to ghats in Patna to offer 'argha' to Sun God on the last day of Chhath puja. It is the four-day long Hindu festival which is mainly observed by the people of Bihar, Jharkhand and eastern Uttar Pradesh. A Tanishq store in Gujarat's Kutch allegedly received threat calls over its latest advertisement. The store is Gandhidham had put up an apology note on its door over the TV ad. The handwritten note in Gujarati also condemned the controversial TV commercial. Photographs of the apology note were also doing rounds on social media. "Tanishq India released an ad which hurt sentiments of some communities. Later, Tanishq India issued an apology over the incident. On October 12, two people visited this story and demanded apology. The store owner had handed over an apology note to them. The store owner was receiving threat calls and they informed us. We have deployed a police patrolling team at this store. No attack has taken place at this Tanishq store in Gandhidham," a police official said. On October 13, Tanishq India withdrew the ad after vicious trolling on social media. Ad featured a Muslim family preparing for baby shower of their Hindu daughter-in-law.
