Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson releases more details on an early morning shooting.

Early morning shooting in lee county left one person dead and one in custody.

Wtva's chelsea brown spoke with lee county sherriff to ask if this was an isolated incident.

The shooting happened here on county road 590 in the palmetto community.

Lee county sherriff says someone shot 21-year-old arlandus shack several times in the road and in the vehicle, he was in.

Nat sound arlandus shack, was out on bond awaiting trial for a 2018 murder in verona when someone shot him shortly after midnight wednesday morning .

Lee county sherriff jim johnson says north mississippi medical center emergency room called the sherrif's department early wednesday morning saying they just recieved a gunshot victim.

"we believe at this time there was only 2 people that went from the crime scene to the hospital."

Shack was pronounced dead at the hospital.

When lee county deputies arrived to the hospital, they questioned several people there.

"and it involved more people than the victim and the shooter."

Sherriff johnson believes more people are involved.

"we do know they were acquaintances, and well enough acquaintances to be comfortable with each other."

Sherriff deputies found multiple bullet casings along the road and in the car that took shack to the hospital.lee county sherriffs deputies recovered the car and weapon used in the shooting.

"this is an isolated incidence that took place tag lee county sherriff is not releasing the name of the person in custody.

He says he hasn't filed any charges.
