A local church is feeding the hungry through their community garden.

Could offer an we first told you months ago about a local church helping food banks in the effort to feed hungry minnesotans... today we're checking back in to see how the growing season went.

I'm at autumn ridge church in rochester and the churches garden right behind me has produced 13 tons of food that has been distributed to the rochester community.

Cucumbers, squash, and green beans... are just a few of the crops grown at autumn ridge church.

This garden was started five years ago as a way for folks to share their crops but the mission has shifted to combat hunger during the pandemic.

"our partners at channel one and community food response they can count on the food that they are getting from this garden every year so just depending on the weather we can produce a tremendous amount of food.it's quality food and this is the best stuff you can get in town its kind of like the stuff you would get at the famers market.
