Newswatch 12's monica huynh with the latest-- today the jackson county sheriffs office participated in the nationwide d-e-a drug take back effort.

There were five boxes lined up inside where old prescription drugs could be dropped off for free.

The drug take back effort was between 10 am to 2 pm today.

The event is help remove drugs off the street.

Only pills and vitamins are allowed for drop off-- needles and biohazard's are not allowed.

çááákarissaáááñ <today we are participating in the drug take back program, and which people can bring down medications for themselves, pets, vitamins.

I know such as that so we can properly have the medications destroyed so they dont end up on the streets.

It is very important to drop off old or unused prescription drugs.

All drugs and bottles dropped off will be destroyed.
