DRDO successfully test-fired Quick Reaction Surface to Air missile for the second time on Tuesday. DRDO’s back to back test trials of QRSAM was lauded by the defence minister Rajnath Singh. The missile on Tuesday directly hit the target during the trials, as per reports. Earlier on November 13, DRDO had conducted a test-trial for QRSAM. Six people were rescued and two others went missing after a vessel carrying eight trucks capsized in Ganga river in Malda district of West Bengal on night of November 23. According to Malda's Zilla Parishad, Sabhadhipati Gaur Chandra Mondal, the launch boat was coming from Rajmahal ghat of Jharkhand, but got drowned during unloading of trucks at Manikchak ghat in Malda. Search and rescue operation is underway to trace the two missing individuals. Meanwhile, the Malda administration has initiated an enquiry to find the cause of the incident.

A 60 km highway from Rajouri to Kotranka Budhal has been completed by Border Road Organization in the remote hilly areas of Pirpanjal range. Locals said the new development is benefiting them.
