A summary of the KY House Distict 39 and 45 races, as well as some constitutional amendments.

People more early voting options like we've seen this year because of the pandemic.

What options do you see the state keeping in the future?

Let's talk about another possible change... this having to do with the new style of politics we have seen with esident trump.

Tell us whatk like c1 3 that includes state house races that could help republicans maintain or expand their super-majority in the chamber and democrats take seats long-held by republicans.

In the 39th house district...that includes parts of fayette and most of jessamine county...democrat carolyn dupont...an educator at e-k- u...takes on republican matt lockett...who's chair of the jessamine county republican party...the seat was open after democrat russ meyer decided not to run for re- election...he was recently named to head up the state parks.

A democrat has held the seat for several years even though there are more registered republicans than democrats in the district.

Meanwhile... democrats hope to pick up a seat in the 45th house district in southwestern fayette county that has been in republican control for two decades.

Republican killian timoney and democrat shirley mitchel...both making their first bid for public office....are vying for the seat long- held by republican stan lee... who...in 20-18... narrowly defeated josh hicks... the same josh hicks now running for congress.

Lee did not run for re- election.

There are also two constitutional amendments on the ballot... the one that's probably received the most attention is amendment one..

Known as marsy's law.

L3: election 2020 election marsy's law voters deciding if it will become a constitutional amendment advocates say marsy's law helps strengthen victim's rights... but opponents argue there are already laws in place to protect them... and marsy's law would interfere with due process...making it harder to maintain people on trial are innocent until proven guilty.

If passed, the amendment... among other things... would give crime victims the right to be notified about all court proceedings and legal processses involving the accused.

This amendment passed in the last election...but was challenged in court...critics saying the language was too vague and the courts agreed...so it's back this election with more detailed language.

Here are few more races we'll be following for you throughout the night.

Voters in bath, boyd, and jessamine counties and the city of stanford will decide on whether or not to allow alcohol sales.

Voters in stanford... along with the city of frankfort... will elect a mayor.

In lexington there are four contested urban county council races...two of those are open seats.
