Days after a woman was found dead in her own home, we are learning more about 78-year-old Florence Alvergue -- a retired South Eugene teacher affectionately known as Flo.

Is not currently suspected.

Disturbing new details in the murder of a 78 year old eugene woman we are told tonight the person responsible for killing her is her own son kezi 9 news reporter emma jerome spoke with friends and family today about the legacy the victim left behind.

Neighbors saying she was kind and it's stil hard to believe they won't see her hanging around her home anymore" according to family she also taught at south eugene high school -- and was an active member of the national alliance on mental illness .

Her neighbors say - her son george alvergue lived with her until the day he allegedly took her life.

George was arrested in oregon in 1995... but he's had brushes with the law in other states, including florida.

He was arraigned wednesday for aggravated murder and appointed a public defender so far... his bail has not been set reporting
