Season has offically ended, we now look towards the potential start of the winter season.

With the status of higher risk winter sports like basketball, ice hockey, wrestling and competitive cheerleading still in limbo, the opportunity for senior high school athletes to continue their careers in college is even more special.

This month, brookfield senior girls basketball star jaelyn vleer- elliott annouced that she has committed to d'youville college in buffalo to continue her athletic and academic career.

After winning the section three class d title.

Back in march, the beavers's run to a state championship was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

She hopes to get one more shot at the title.

Jaelyn vleer-elliott: well i hope that we get this season i hope that we can get me and everyone else on the team we can represent brookfield one more time, well for me one more time i hope that i hope that the community will come to all of our games i hope that if we have basketball but we have sectionals so that we can maybe win another sectional title and go further than that that would be super cool to do that my senior year just proving that we could stay there i still think that we can be there this year.

Brookfield is a member of the central counties league which postponed all fall sports until march and winter sports teams may have to wait until january to resume.

Currently section three athletics has delayed the start of the winter sports season to december 14 tentatively.
