Taranjit Singh Sandhu said, "The priority right now in both countries and we have seen President-elect Biden immediately focusing on the COVID issue.
He has created a special task force which includes many of the prominent names.
So, that is the priority here and in that India will be an important and significant factor.
We have been collaborating with the US particularly on the medical side.
We are partnering for the bulk production of vaccines and India will be a significant partner.
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar hoped that the crucial meeting with the farm leaders on December 03 will lead to "positive outcome". Tomar left from his residence to meet the farmer leaders. Meanwhile, 40 farmer leaders arrived at Vigyan Bhawan. "We are hopeful that the talks will be productive. If our demands are not met then the farmers will take part in the Republic Day parade held in Delhi," said farmer leader Rakesh Tikait. As farmers protest against the three new agricultural reforms entered Day 08, Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee's joint secretary for Punjab, SS Subhran, said they will boycott the meeting until Prime Minister himself holds a discussion with all 507 farmers' unions. "We won't attend any meeting called by the government until PM Modi holds a meeting with leaders of all 507 farmers' unions," said SS Subhran at Singhu border where thousands of farmers have camped as part of their 'Delhi Chalo' protest.
