In our top story at 11...a memoriam for a lexington activist who survived two strokes, two kidney transplants, and hip replacements, but ultimately died from covid-19.

Today during his daily briefing, governor andy beshear, recognized latasha benton.

Benton died earlier this month, after losing her battle to the coronavirus.

She was just 43- year-old.

The new york times featured her obituary, as part of its series about people who have died during the pandemic.

According to the obituary... her mother says benton had two strokes when she was 22..

One on each side of her brain.

If there was a social justice cause that needed attention, benton was there.
