Lorde Opens up About Decision to ‘Peace Out’ From Social Media.

Lorde has finally revealed why she took such a dramatic step away from social media over two years ago.

She candidly discussed her 2018 decision to delete hundreds of old tweets and Instagram posts in the November issue of ‘Interview.’ .

According to Lorde, her decision to “peace out” from social media was partly due to her feeling like she was “losing [her] free will.” .

She also revealed that she was feeling “massive amounts of stress” over systemic racism, police brutality and climate change.

She described being on social media as “having front-row seats to the hellfire.” .

Although she removed herself from social media, Lorde spoke out about the murder of George Floyd earlier this year via email.

In the mass email to fans, Lorde confessed that she was still trying to “strike a balance” between social media and “true action.” .
