The Weeknd Speaks out Against ‘Corrupt’ Grammys After Nominations Snub.

Singer-songwriter The Weeknd has accused the Grammys of being “corrupt” after receiving no nominations for the 2021 award show.

.

In a post to Twitter, The Weeknd called for “transparency” from the Recording Academy.

.

The Grammys remain corrupt.

You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency…, The Weeknd, via Twitter.

In a follow-up post, he then referenced a ‘Rolling Stone’ report that claims he was intentionally snubbed.

A source “close to the situation” says the two parties had a disagreement over whether he could perform at both the Grammys and the 2021 Super Bowl.

.

They “eventually agreed” that he could perform both events, but that decision is now seemingly up in the air.

.

Collaboratively planning a performance for weeks to not being invited?

In my opinion zero nominations = you’re not invited!, The Weeknd, via Twitter.

In a separate complaint, Justin Bieber also took to social media following the nominations announcement to voice his own criticisms. Bieber, who received three nominations for his album, ‘Changes,’ expressed his disappointment in not being recognized in the R&B categories.

.

For this not to be put into that category feels weird considering from the chords to the melodies to the vocal style all the way down to the hip hop drums that were chosen it is undeniable, unmistakably an R&B album!, Justin Bieber, via Twitter
