BODYBUILDER by day and drag queen by night - 28-year-old Rock, aka Miss Toto, dominates both worlds with sheer determination and a lot of sequins.
Currently residing in Chicago, Illinois, Rock took up bodybuilding whilst still living in Miami.
Rock who identifies as non-binary explains that Miami was the place where they first fell in love with bodybuilding and competing in the sport.
They told Truly: “For me, bodybuilding started because I wanted that challenge, that drive and the pageantry that I wasn’t getting out of my life." Besides that, they soon found that drag and bodybuilding actually have a lot in common, explaining: “Bodybuilding and drag I would say is very similar in the sense that you’re on stage, everyone’s looking at you and everyone is judging you.” Working out five days a week and having taken part in numerous bodybuilding competitions, even winning the Miami Classic, the popular drag queen’s physique has made an impressive transformation.
Although Rock won Miami’s Best Drag Queen in 2018, they still come across the occasional negative comment, saying things such as muscles and dressing in drag can’t go together.
However, Rock is determined to prove people otherwise: “I work so hard on my physique outside of drag, that in drag I want that to carry over, people have asked me what I’m doing with all those muscles in drag, but it seems like I’m doing pretty well, so now what?”
