Today - 145 sites across the country are expected to get that vaccine.

Other sites... on target to get shipments by wednesday.

An estimated two-point-nine million doses will be distributed within a week.

Reps from butte county public health tell action news now - the state has set aside 10- thousand doses of the vaccine to butte county.

And enloe medical center will receive some of those.

But with limited doses... it may be late spring before the general public is able to get vaccinated.

And because of that... health leaders say everyone must continue efforts to prevent the covid-19 spread.

A group of medical experts from california, oregon, washington and nevada say -- pfizer's covid vaccine is safe for public use.

It is now authorized in several western states.

Governor newsom made the announcement via social media.

The approval comes just 24 hours after the head of the centers for disease control approved the vaccine.
