This week is one of the busiest travel weeks of the year, although not as many people are traveling this year, at least not through rochester international airport.

That, though, isn't what we are seeing at our airport.

According to tiana o' connor, rochester international airport's communication s and marketing director, there is a 70 percent decline in passenger traffic.

Only 30 percent of holiday travelers are choosing to fly.

O'connor tells me despite it being a holiday week, it is business as usual here.

I spoke with a traveler as he prepared to leave rochester after a short i came to rochester for a wedding.

I'm heading back home just to head back home cause i'm visiting family and it's almost christmas because we do serve many people doing business um with mayo clinic and patient travelers, we do tend to see a drop off thanksgiving is the busiest travel time in the nation.

The airport hasn't yet made any comparison between what it saw at thanksgiving and what is happening this week.
