Local schools could soon receive thousands in aid to help enhance campus reopening safety.

Billions of dollars could soon be coming here to help our local schools reopen safely.

### miranda taylor/teacher: schools could always use more money, you know, for cleaning and staff it takes a lot of time and staff to get our school clean and keep it clean and sanitized.

Money from the state's plan would go toward testing, ventilation, ppe, and improved contact tracing.

Claudia trout/director of student affairs: we could always use additional funds to enhance safety and possibly add more staff to support our safety procedures especially if we are going to be welcoming more students on campus.

Miranda taylor a teacher at the school tells me they want to make kids feels as connected to each other and their teachers as possible.

Miranda taylor/teacher: so they feel supported and are in a safe space mentally and emotionally to be able to learn and continue their studies.

Claudia trout/director of student affairs: our goal would be to have students back and welcome them safely and its just a matter of making sure we're reducing the spread of the virus and how to welcome students and staff back safely with safety procedures in place.

Kristian: school officials say they dont know exactly how much of that 2 billion dollars they would recieve but according to the states plan it could be anywhere between 450- 700 per student.
