The frozen Hofvijver pond in The Hague started melting Friday afternoon (February 12) with a number of people still skating on it.
The skaters were helped off the pond by police and emergency services, but some of them struggled and fell into the cold water.
The incident attracted many people's attention and some of the bystanders also helped skaters get ashore.
