World’s First Supersonic Unmanned Combat Drone Can Fly At Twice The Speed Of Sound

This is the world's first supersonic unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) that can fly at twice the speed of sound.

Arrow by Singapore-based Kelley Aerospace, is designed with a single-shell made of lightweight carbon fibre that allows it to exceed the speed of sound, hitting an astonishing mach 2.1.

A manned version of Arrow will control multiple unmanned versions of the UCAV.

Each will have a different mission, equipment and weapon set, that can be controlled autonomously as well as by two ground station controllers.

In addition to air missions, Arrow can be deployed for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance tasks.

The company has already received more than 100 pre-orders of the vehicle despite it being priced between $9 million and $16 million.

The firm conducted the first scale prototype test fligths in Israel in 2014.
