To help!

The storms that left that damage in central alabama - gave us another soaking rain in north alabama.

Now - that rainfall is impacting local farmers and their crops.

Waay-31's bridget divers is live at henderson farms after speaking with the owner about what he's seeing.

Bridget..... najahe, marie -- normally at this time of the year there would already be some corn emerging from the ground, but not this year.

Heavy rains have prevented places like henderson farms from planting their corn and soybeans.

The delay in planting is not a problem yet but it could become one the closer we get to april.

That's because there are certain timing windows in the tenneessee valley for planting corn.

"overall, right now the impact is mainly going to be the cotton, corn and soybeans that's growing in this area.

It's just we're getting later and planning delays and of course we've got more rain coming.

We can work with rain better than when we can't."

The owner of henderson farms -- stuart sanderson -- says they are not at the point yet where not planting the corn crop right now will affect them financially.
