Florence urgent care discusses concerns about coronavirus vaccine hesitancy

But - as the f-d-a and c-d-c review reports - healthcare experts across the country have reported people becoming more cautious about getting the shot.

Waay 31's breken terry spoke with med-plus out of florence.

They said they're concerned that this will impact efforts to move forward in the pandemic.

Med plus in florence has 70 johnson and johnson vaccines and had to abruplty cancel those vaccination appointments earlier this week.

Many health care professionals worry this is creating more vaccination hestiancy.

George- i think there's a lot of hesitancy anyway with some of the reactions were having with some of the other vaccines.

Med plus medical director kip george said before johnson and johnson got put on pause he had already noticed people were getting more reluctant to take any coronavirus vaccine.

George- i'm afraid it's going to slow the progression of getting people vaccinated.

George said with the johnson and johnson vaccine under further invesigation and linked to rare blood clotting issues- he hopes the federal government can get to the bottom of it.

George- we're gonna let the cdc and everybody sort it out and see what they are going to do.

If they sort it out and say it's statistical thing then we will continue and if not we will throw them out.

George said the benefits of getting any coronavirus vaccine outweigh the risks.

George-the others haven't had any doubt raised on them so i would still encourage that.

George said their johnson and johnson vaccines have a shelf life of june 20th.

They have placed an order for moderna and pfizer vaccines.
