A former chief constable has spoken of the importance of a new policing memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum, ahead of its official opening today.
Memorial trustee Jane Sawyers said: "Police officers go out all day, every day, not intending to not come home, but it happens.
Anybody that that happens to, deserves to be recognised." Report by Buseld.
