Nikki McCray-Penson will not be on the sidelines for the Mississippi State women's basketball program this season.
She is stepping down effective immediately to focus on her health.
Coach McCray-Penson is breast cancer survivor after being diagnosed back in 2013.
In her first year with the Bulldogs they finished 10-9 and 5-7 in the SEC.
