Rebuked #031 | Muntadhar al-Zaidi | Throwing Shoes At War Criminals featuring Ibra Taher

Welcome to another episode of Rebunked.

I'm very excited to premiere this episode.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi, who became a cultural icon in the following an incident in 2008 when he demonstrated the ultimate form of disrespect towards former president and war criminal George w Bush by throwing both of his shoes at Bush during a press conference.

Muntadhar was then arrested by Iraqi law enforcement, who had been co-opted by US forces, imprisoned and tortured for 9 months.

This is a powerful conversation that gives a lot of humanity to the struggle that people have endured in Iraq for decades.

Joining me in the conversation to help with translation is my friend Ibra Taher, former candidate for US Senate from Oregon.

Ibra is very knowledgeable about the US Constitution and was very helpful in translating this conversation.
