Health Secretary Therese Coffey has doubled down on her demand that GP surgeries ensure patients are seen within two weeks of needing an appointment.
During a visit to a London practice she said: "I'm very keen that patients are seen … that's the way they can get diagnosed and get, if necessary, care and treatment.
I have not apologised at all for saying it's my expectation that when somebody phones up and they need an appointment, that they get that appointment within a fortnight." Report by Buseld.
