NHS unveils 'once in a generation' plan to 'recover' service

The chief executive of the NHS unveiled new plans to increase hospital beds "by thousands" and roll out hundreds of ambulance crews to "recover urgent and emergency services".

Amanda Pritchard said the NHS is working with the government on a long-term work force plan "to put the NHS on a sustainable footing which is once in a generation opportunity".
