Union chief calls for 'serious negotiations' on teacher pay

The general secretary of the National Education Union calls on ministers to take part in "serious negotiations about what can be done to pay teachers for the work that they do".

Speaking at a picket line outside a school in south London, Dr Mary Bousted accuses the government of treating teachers with "contempt" and insists her union is "standing up for education" by striking.
