Shapps accuses striking ambulance unions of risking lives

Business Secretary Grant Shapps has accused ambulance unions of failing to disclose when and where strikes will occur, making it difficult to provide cover from the army and subsequently putting lives at risk.

He defended the move to introduce minimum service level legislation which is aimed at preventing strikes, and said the key to solving issues with pay would be by cutting inflation.
