Tom Tugendhat, one of the six Tory MPs vying to be Rishi Sunak’s successor as Conservative leader, formally launches his campaign, admitting that he is applying for a job that he doesn't want.
The MP for Tonbridge said: "I don't want to be Leader of the Opposition, I want to be prime minister".
He continued: "I don't want to oppose, I want to govern, but first we need to change".
