It all depends on factors that are still mostly unknown. They range from the bridge's design to the abilities of government officials to swiftly navigate bureaucracy. Ben Schafer is an engineering professor at Johns Hopkins University. He said the project could take five to seven years given all that's required. The Key Bridge collapsed Tuesday after a cargo ship plowed into it. Officials are scrambling to clean up and rebuild.
