Decide on Rajoana’s mercy plea in 2 months: Supreme Court to Centre

Observing that the government must show “compassion” while deciding mercy plea of citizens, the Supreme Court on Monday directed the Centre to take a decision within two months on the petition of death row convict Balwant Singh Rajoana in the former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh’s assassination case.
