Delhi board hurries operation, razes night shelter before SC could hear case

The Delhi Urban Shelter Board (DUSIB) demolished a night shelter for the homeless at Sarai Kale Khan by rolling in bulldozers and tractors early Wednesday morning, starting the process well before the scheduled time, even as word got around that the Supreme Court was being approached to stay the exercise. By the time advocate Prashant Bhushan could finally appear before the Supreme Court, around 11.10am, the shelter had been razed and the homeless rendered homeless again.
