Senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam Khan have been transferred from Rampur district jail to Sitapur and Hardoi prisons respectively by the UP government for "security reasons". Azam expressed concerns about his safety while boarding the police vehicle, saying, "we may be killed in an encounter, anything can happen to us." The move comes after Azam, his wife, and son were convicted in a fake birth certificate case and sentenced to seven years in jail. Multiple cases are pending against the family, and they need to appear regularly in court.
