Rear Admiral Rajesh Dhankhar takes over command of Eastern Fleet

Rear Admiral Rajesh Dhankhar has taken over as the Fleet Commander, Eastern Fleet Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet (FOCEF), from Rear Admiral Gurcharan Singh in the Indian Navy. Dhankhar has had a successful career in the Indian Navy, commanding the aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya and serving in various other important assignments. The Indian Navy is a well-balanced and cohesive force with three commands under the control of a Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief. The two fleets, Western and Eastern, are based in Mumbai and Visakhapatnam respectively.
