Encounter award for army dog

An army dog, Domino, has been awarded a “commendation card” and feted as the “silent warrior” for helping soldiers trace the hideout of the terrorists in Rajouri’s Bajimal encounter. According to army officials, the dog helped the troops reach the location by sniffing one of the terrorist’s blood trails in the forested Kalakote area during the November 22-23 gunfight in which five soldiers and two terrorists were killed. Two army dogs have died from terrorists’ bullets in recent times.
