Centre designates Tehreek-e-Hurriyat as ‘unlawful association’ under UAPA

The Centre designated Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH), a separatist outfit founded by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, as an 'unlawful association' for spreading anti-India propaganda and fueling secessionism in J&K. Home Minister Amit Shah warned of thwarting any individual or organization involved in anti-India activities. The ban on TeH comes after the labeling of another group, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, as an 'unlawful association.' TeH is involved in fomenting terrorism, raising funds through Pakistan, and supporting terrorist acts in J&K. The group according to home ministry showed disrespect towards the Constitutional authority and aims to advocated the secession of J&K from India.
