Bharat Ratna nomination: PM Modi sends wishes to Karpoori Thakur's son; Rahul Gandhi welcomes move

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday spoke to the son of Karpoori Thakur, a two-time chief minister of Bihar, and congratulated him on Thakur's nomination for Bharat Ratna. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, meanwhile, has welcomed the decision to honour Thakur with Bharat Ratna, while also slamming the BJP-led government for alleged "indifference towards caste census".
