(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, April 25 (KUNA) -- 1960 -- Fahad Rashed Bouresli, famous with his poems in local Kuwait dialect, passed away at age of 42. 1960 -- State of Kuwait joined the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). 1961 -- Director of Electricity, Water and Gas Department Sheikh Jaber Ali Al-Salem Al-Sabah announced discovery of fresh water in Rawdhatain area, north of Kuwait. 1976 -- Kuwait Melamine Industries Company established with a capital of four million Kuwaiti Dinars (KD). 1976 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah signed a decree penalizing fraud in trade transactions. 1982 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah signed a decree establishing the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI). 1987 -- Kuwait Karate Association founded. 1995 -- Kuwait parliament approved a bill amending drug enforcement law, which stipulated an execution punishment against anyone convicted of producing, distributing or importing narcotics with purpose of selling them illegally. 2001 -- Kuwait parliament approved pensions bill, granting every retiree KD 50. 2001 -- Kuwait national team won the Gulf Squash championship, held in Qatar. 2004 -- Kuwait Central Bank lifted state guarantees on equities of depositors in local banks. 2007 -- Kuwait Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammad Al-Sabah opened Khaled Al-Ghunaim medical center in Qadsiya Area. 2007 -- Kazma SC won Mohammad Abdulmohsen Al-Kharafi football championship, for the second time. 2008 -- Kuwait Radio won two gold awards at the Gulf Radio and TV festival, held in Bahrain. 2009 -- Qadsia SC won Kuwait Football Association's League despite a 2-2 draw against rival Kuwait in the final leg of the tournament. 2011 -- Kuwait won three gold medals, two silver and two bronze in the Arab Shooting Championship. 2011 -- Anwar Al-Rifae, a researcher in manuscripts and Kuwait heritage, unveiled a historic document proving Kuwait existed before the year 1611. 2015 -- Kuwait won the Asian Ice Hockey Challenge after beating Kyrgyzstan 9-3. The tournament was held in Kuwait. 2017 -- Kuwait won the Asian Ice Hockey Cup after beating Oman 13-0. 2018 -- Kuwait told Philippines Ambassador he had a week to leave the country and called its Ambassador in Manila for consultations, after members of Philippines embassy smuggled domestic helpers thus violating the diplomatic conduct.
