China's mideast envoy urges guarantees for Palestinians

China's special envoy for the Middle East, Zhai Jun, has attributed the Israel-Gaza crisis to the lack of guarantees for Palestinian rights. During a meeting with his Russian counterpart in Qatar, Zhai emphasized the need for greater coordination with Moscow in resolving the conflict. China and Russia share the same position on the Palestinian issue. The crisis has also highlighted the differing stances of China, Russia, and the United States, with President Biden pledging additional funding for Israel while China and Russia call for an independent Palestinian state.
